On Saturday, the 14th of December, we hosted an introduction session for the members of CAFi. The CAFi ( https://www.cafi-nb.org/ ) welcomes and assists immigrants (permanent residents and refugees) from their first day in Moncton and Southeastern NB. They offer them help in the first steps of establishment in Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB (housing, administration, enrolling children in school, insurance, purchase of equipment, etc.).
This awesome group had about 30 members with a wide range of age. They were all interested in table tennis and eager to learn.
After briefly explaining the rules and answering questions, we showed them the basic forehand and backhand technique. We then formed 3 lines and fed them balls to practice their new skills. Some of them showed real potential. They all had fun playing together and with us afterwards.
We had a great evening and we hope to host a similar event in the near future!
